Sophie Schmidt, who celebrated her 100th international appearance for Canada with a goal, was named the TropiGol.com women’s player of the week.
She was honored for the week ending on Sunday, March 10.
Schmidt scored in the Canadians’ 2-0 victory over Switzerland in the opening match of the Cyprus Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus last Wednesday.
Schmidt tallied in the second minute and Diana Matheson added an insurance goal in the 79th minute.
