For the second time in three weeks, Honduran international defender Maynor Figueroa was named the TropiGol.com men’s player of the week.
Figueroa, who scored in Wigan Athletic’s 3-0 win over Everton in the quarterfinals of the English F.A. Cup quarterfinals, was honored for the week ending on Sunday, March 10.
He was honored as player of the week on Feb. 25.
The Honduran scored the first of three rapid goals within a four-minute span in the first half as Wigan reached the competition’s final for the first time in the club’s 81-year history on Saturday.
Figueroa, finding himself open, started the scoring run heading home a corner kick past keeper Jan Mucha in the 30th minute at Goodison Park.
