SWANSEA, Wales — Barbados international Emmerson Boyce scored Wigan Athletic’s lone goal in its 2-1 loss to Swansea City in the English Premier League.
As it turned out, all the scoring in the game came within a four-minute span midway through the second half.
The hosts grabbed a two-goal advantage on goals by Pablo Hernandez (65th minute) and Michu (67th).
Two minutes after the second goal, Boyce, an English-born player who has performed for the Barbadian national side, cut the lead in half.
Argentine Franco di Santo started the scoring sequence as he carried the ball down the left flank before crossed it across the penalty area. Arouna Kone, at the back post, nodded it down to James McCarthy, who scuffed a shot into the air. Boyce got ahold of the ball, and with his back to the net, blooped the ball into the corner of the goal.
