MEXICO CITY — Mexico finished with a perfect 6-0 mark, shutting down El Salvador, 2-0, in a CONCACAF Group B World Cup qualifier at Azteca Stadium on Tuesday night.

The result eliminated the Salvadorans (1-3-2, five points) from reaching the final round.

Like their 5-0 win over Guyana on Friday, it took El Tri more than an hour to find the back of the net.

Oribe Peralta finally found the back of the net in the 65th as striker Javier Hernandez duplicated the feat in the 85th minute.
