KINGSTON, Jamaica — Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Dane Richards scored twice in the final 12 minutes to seal Jamaica’s 4-1 World Cup win over Antigua & Barbuda and boost the Reggae Boyz into next year’s hexagonal.
Those goals put the Jamaicans over the to against CONCACAF Group A rival El Salvdaor in superior goal differntial (plus three to plus one).
Richards struck in the 78th minute to give the hosts some much needed breathing room and did it yet again in the 88th minute.
Demar PHillips and Nyron Nosworthy scored goals in back-to-back minutes in the 16th and 17th minutes, respectively.
Quinton Griffith pulled one back for Antigua in the 61st minute.
