Five places still remain open for the final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying as the third closes with two match days on Friday and Tuesday.
Eight teams have legitimate chances of clinching one of the five remaining berths. They include Guatemala, the United States and Jamaica in Group A, El Salvador and Costa Rica in Group B and Panama, Honduras and Canada in Group C.
Antigua & Barbuda’s and Guyana’s chances are hanging by a thread as Cuba has been the only country eliminated entering Friday’s and Tuesday’s action.
Mexico is the only side that has clinched a berth for the 2013 final round.
Each of the three groups have intriguing battles that could go down to the wire. The top two teams in each group will advance to the six-team final round.
