First round action in the Caribbean Cup continues on Tuesday with the opening of Group 5 play in St. Kitts and Nevis as the battle for the region’s four places in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup intensifies.
Tuesday’s doubleheader opens with an encounter between French Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago, followed by a game between the host and Anguilla. On Friday, Anguilla will take on Trinidad, while St. Kitts & Nevis squares off against French Guyana.
The group will close out on Sunday as French Guyana meets Anguilla and St. Kitts faces Trinidad.
The Group 5 winner will join Cuba, Suriname and the Group 2 runner-up in the Group 8 of the semifinal round, which will be played in Trinidad in Nov. 14-18.
The Group 5 runner-up will advance to Group 6, assuming it has a better record than Barbados in Group 4 (2-1-0, six points).
The Caribbean Cup final round will be played in Antigua & Barbuda from Dec. 3-15.
