Nothing lasts forever and that including very long playing streaks.
Former U.S. international goalkeeper Brad Friedel learned that on Sunday as failed to start a Tottenham match for the first time in eight years.
The 41-year-old Friedel started the English Premier League game on the bench against Aston Villa, ending a streak of 310 consecutive starts dating back to May 2004.
In his place, French captain Hugo Lloris received the starting nod from manager Andre Villas-Boas, who was signed fro Lyon in a $12.6 transfer.
