Mexico might have clinched a spot in next year’s final World Cup qualifying round, but coach Jose Manuel de la Torre is bringing in many first-team players for the final two games of the CONCACAF semifinal round.
The list includes strikers Javier Hernandez, Aldo de Nigris and Oribe Peralta, midfielder Andres Guardado and defenders Hector Moreno and Francisco Javier Rodriguez.
The Mexicans (4-0-0, 12 points) play at Guyana (0-3-1, one) in Group B action on Oct. 12 and host El Salvador (1-1-2, five) four days later. The Salvadorans are in a battle with Costa Rica (1-2-1, four) for the second and final qualifying spot for next year’s hexagonal.
