Garcia gives Houston some late insurance

Posted on September 30, 2012

HOUSTON — Honduran international Oscar Boniek Garcia gave the Houston Dynamo some breathing room as he tallied an insurance goal in a 2-0 win over the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer action on Saturday night.

The victory lifted the Dynamo (49 points), which extended their home winning streak to 23 games, to 13-8-10, while New England (29) dropped to 7-16-8.

After Ricardo Clark gave Houston a 1-0 lead off a Brad Davis assist in the 77th minute, Garcia scored off a volley from Warren Creavalle’s cross in the three minutes into stoppage time at rain-drenched BVAA Compass Stadium.
