VANCOUVER, B.C. — Jamaican international striker Omar Cummings scored for the Colorado Rapids in their 2-2 Major league Soccer draw at BC Place on Sunday.

Cummings found the back of the net for his sixth goal in the 34th minute, putting in a rebound of a Martin Rivero shot past goalkeeper. Rivero’s shot had bounded off the left post before Cummings slotted it home for a 1-0 lead.

Alain Rochat (64th minute) and Kenny Miler (68th minute) tallied quick goals in succession, but Jamie Smith equalized for the Rapids in the 86th minute.

The Rapids (9-18-3, 30 points) are eight points behind the pack in the Western Conference playoff race while the Whitecaps moved to 10-12-8 and 38 points.
