An American started Hoffenheim to its first victory of the Bundesliga season on Sunday and another U.S. international finished it over Hannover.
Hoffenheim snapped a four-game losing streak in all competitions.
After an own goal by Mathieu Delpierre gave Hannover a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute, the U.S.’s Fabian Johnson equalized almost immediately. Sejad Salihovic and American Danny Williams seat the foes’ fate.
His team trailing 1-0, Johnson beat U.S. international teammate Steve Cherundolo down the left wing before beating goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler in the 27th minute.
Salihovic gave Hoffenheim the lead off a header in the 82nd minute before Williams added an insurance goal, scoring into an empty net in added time.
