Only days after being named to the Honduran National Team for this month’s round of World Cup qualifing, midfielder Maynor Figueroa found himself in the middle of one of Stoke City’s goals on Saturday.
He blatantly handled the ball in the penalty area, setting up Jonathan Walters’ penalty kick in the 40th minute that tied the English Premier League match at 1-1. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Honduras visits Cuba in a CONCACAF Group C match on Friday before hosting the Caribbean side on Sept. 11.
