The Major League Soccer disciplinary committee Friday suspended Columbus Crew defender Julius James one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for violent conduct in the 78th minute of the Crew’s 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday.
A Trinidad & Tobago international, James will serve suspension during the Crew’s match against the Montreal Impact on Saturday.
Fines collected will be donated to the charitable partners of MLS W.O.R.K.S. and the MLS Players Union.
