KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Caribbean Cup, which will qualify four teams for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, kicks off next month.

Twenty-five teams will participate in the biennial competition.

The event will start with a doubleheader in Martinique on Sept. 5.

Montserrat will face Suriname before Martinique plays the British Virgin Islands in Stade En Camee in Riviere-Pilote in Group 3, with subsequent matches on Sept. 7 and Sept. 9.

Group 1 in Haiti with Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Saint-Martin will be played Sept/ 7-11 in Port-au-Prince while Group 4 in Bridgetown, Barbados, is set for Sept/ 23-27 with the host country, Aruba, Dominica and the Dominican Republic.

Two other first-round groups will include St. Kitts hosting Anguilla, Trinidad & Tobago and French Guyana in Group 5 from Oct. 10-14, with Group 2 in St. Lucia, which will include Curacao, Guyna and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Dates have not been set for Group 2.

The winners and runners-up from Groups 1-3 as well as the best runner-up from Group 4 or Group 5 will advance to a second, three-group round in late October, when Grenada, Guadeloupe and Cuba will be added to the competition.

The top two teams from each second-round group will qualify for the Caribbean Cup finals along with two-time defending champion Jamaica and host Antigua & Barbuda from Dec. 3-15.
