Mexico to open U-20 Women’s World Cup vs. Japan

Mexico will face host Japan in the opening match of the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Miyagi on Saturday.

The CONCACAF champion United States will kick off against Ghana a day later in Hiroshima, while in a Group C encounter later that day, Canada will play Argentina in Kobe.

Mexico will meet Switzerland on Aug/ 22, before closing its Group A schedule against New Zealand four days later.

The U.S. faces China on Aug. 23 and will conclude Group D play against Germany on Aug. 27. Canada takes on Norway on Aug. 23 and then finishes the first round with an Aug. 27 game against North Korea.
