Honduras traveled to Villach, Austria, for training and friendly matches prior to its July 26 Olympic opener against Morocco in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Catrachos defeated their counterparts from Gabon, 2-0, last Wednesday behind goals from Eddie Hernandez (60th minute) and Andy Najar (70th minute). On Monday, Antony Lozano scored two goals (71st and 79th minutes) to lift the Central Americans to a 2-1 win triumph over the United Arab Emirates’ Olympic team.
Honduras, the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying runner-up, will face Egypt in Amiens, France on Thursday.
Mexico recorded a 1-0 victory over Great Britain in Marbella, Spain on Sunday. Marco Fabian (28th minute) scored the game’s lone goal.
The Mexicans, the confederation’s Olympic qualifying champion, will face host Spain in Cadiz on Wednesday. Mexico will start its Olympic campaign against South Korea in Newcastle, England on July 26.
