LONDON — It seems that every time Clint Dempsey scores for Fulham he reaches yet another milestone.

The U.S. international struck for his 50th goal in the English Premier League for Fulham in its 2-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday. It also was Dempsey’s 23rd goal of the season.

Dempsey gave the hosts a lead in the 12th minute. He fired a free kick into the upper right corner of the net. Sunderland’s Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet, got his finger tips on the ball, but he could not keep it out of the goal.

When talking about Dempsey’s performance this season, Fulham manager Martin Jol simply said, “Clint Dempsey. Unbelievable.”

After Phillip Bardsley equalized, Moussa Demeble tallied the tie-breaker for Fulham’s second goal.

“They’ve both enjoyed such good seasons,” Fulham teammate Brede Hangeland told the Fulham wesbite. “They have been brilliant and you saw the same again today and for them to score a goal each was well deserved and capped off great seasons for both of them.”
