Carson, Calif. – Chivas USA will play Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles from Mexico’s First Division as part of its pre-season schedule at University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium for the San Diego Clasico title on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 11 p.m. ET.
This will be the first time the Goats face off against their neighbors from south of the border. For Xolos, who currently hold the Clasico title after beating the Galaxy last year in a penalty kick shootout, this will be the second time it meets a Major League Soccer team. Tijuana recently defeated the Red and White’s sister club, Chivas Rayadas de Guadalajara, 2-0, at Omnilife stadium during their league’s third week.
In years past the San Diego Clasico has featured Club America and England’s Portsmouth.
The game will be held at Torero stadium on the campus of the University of San Diego.
Tickets are available by visiting www.tickets.com or by calling (619) 260-7550. Ticket prices are $25, $35, and $45.
