LONDON — Clint Dempsey continued his incredible season for Fulham on Wednesday, connecting for his 16th goal overall and 10th English Premier League score in a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

The U.S. international midfielder had given Fulham the lead in the 69th minute as he tallied from the middle o0f the penalty after Costa Rican international Bryan Ruiz’s through ball set him up.

Somen Tchoyi, however, equalized for WBA in the 82nd minute.

As it turned out, Fulham manager Martin Jol decided to play Dempsey at striker for this match.

“Clint scores goals from the left and up-front,” Jol told the Fulham website. “It’s extraordinary to score goals the way he does.

“He is normally on the left but today he played up-front and you know there are goals in him so I was pleased.”
