U.S. international midfielder DaMarcus Beasley, who scored in the third minute to give Puebla a 1-0 win at Jaguares in Mexico’s Clausura on Saturday night, was named the TropiGol.com men’s player of the week.

He was honored for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Beasley helped Puebla to its first victory in four Clausura matches this season.

The 29-year-old midfielder Beasley received a pass from Luis Garcia barely inside the penalty area, cut to his right and scored on a right-footed shot from some 14 yards.

A veteran of three World Cups, Beasley has three goals since joining Puebla last summer. He scored against Pumas on Aug. 21 and against San Luis on Oct. 1.
