By George, NEC wins at Arnhem 1st time since 1979

ARNHEM, Netherlands — Forward Leroy George scored in the 75th minute to lift NEC Nijmegen to a 1-0 victory over Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch First Division on Sunday.

It was NEC’s first win here since 1979.

The 24-year-old George is a Dutch citizen of Surinamese descent. He was born in Paramaribo, Suriname and grew up in the Netherlands.
